New Orleans, LA – February 5, 2025 – Talia Thompson, founder of Tusitala Productions and To’omalatai Family Foundation, and Janay Lata, Foundation Director, traveled to New Orleans for an impactful week of Super Bowl events, networking, and advocacy.

Throughout the week, they attended key industry gatherings, connecting with sports and media professionals who share a commitment to inclusivity and representation. These engagements provided valuable opportunities to amplify the foundation’s mission—uplifting and empowering the Pacific Islander community in sports and storytelling, industries where their presence is often underrepresented.

A highlight of the trip was participating in Women Raise the Game, an event dedicated to celebrating and supporting women in competitive industries. At this prestigious gathering, Talia Thompson took the stage as a panelist, sharing insights on breaking barriers, embracing limitless opportunities, and expanding pathways for underrepresented voices. She emphasized the saying, "It takes a village," highlighting the importance of community support in creating opportunities and fostering success.

Reflecting on the experience, Janay Lata shared, It was an incredible experience to break bread with prestigious, successful professionals and share our mission with them. Representing our Pasifika community in these spaces is an honor, and I look forward to the day when we are not just present, but fully recognized and celebrated."

Being surrounded by powerful, trailblazing women and representing the Pacific Islander community during Super Bowl Week was a significant and inspiring moment. The experience reinforced the foundation’s commitment to education, awareness, and advocacy in sports, media, and beyond.

With continued efforts, the foundation aims to increase visibility and create more opportunities for Pacific Islanders, ensuring that their voices are heard and their contributions recognized in these influential spaces. That week in New Orleans was just one step in a much larger journey toward lasting impact.

The To’omalatai Family Foundation remains dedicated to making its mark, creating pathways for future generations, and championing representation where it matters most.
