Welcoming Talent: Tai Arona Joins The To'omalatai Family Foundation Internship Program

Salt Lake City, UT (October 18,2024) The To'omalatai Family Foundation (TFF) was thrilled to welcome a new intern, Tai Arona, to our team. Tai’s arrival marks an exciting milestone in our ongoing efforts to provide mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities for young Pacific Islanders in the media industry.

At TFF, our internship program is more than just a chance to give back; it’s an integral part of our mission to nurture the next generation of creatives. By providing training in areas like graphic design, content creation, and media production, we aim to equip emerging talent with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-evolving industry. Our program strives to open doors and inspire young minds to pursue their passions with confidence.

Since joining us, Tai has been working closely with our Project Manager, Chris, and Creative Director, Fua, both of whom have taken him under their wing. Through this mentorship, Tai has gained valuable insights while also honing his own skills in a real-world environment. When asked what he has learned so far, Tai shared, “I’ve learned how to be more organized and how to collaborate with a team,” noting that the experience has helped him become more efficient and focused when working with others.

A key area of growth for Tai has been his exposure to graphic design, a field in which Fua has provided dedicated instruction. Tai is already using the new skills he’s gained to enhance his personal portfolio, experimenting with new design software that he can now incorporate into his own creative projects.

Another exciting aspect of Tai’s internship is the opportunity to learn the ropes behind-the-scenes in media production. Tai is particularly eager to shadow Chris on shoots and behind-the-scenes interviews, an experience that will further broaden his understanding of the industry.

When reflecting on his overall experience, Tai shared that the internship has “exceeded [his] expectations,” further highlighting how impactful and enriching this opportunity has been for him. The mentorship, and exposure to new software and techniques have helped Tai grow.

At TFF, we are beyond excited to see how Tai will continue to grow and thrive during his time with us. His enthusiasm and drive to learn are inspiring, and we have no doubt that he will accomplish great things. We are committed to supporting Tai every step of the way, helping him build the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.

As we look to the future, we’re excited to welcome even more interns to our program, continuing to build a community of passionate and talented young Pacific Islanders who will shape the future of the media industry. Tai’s journey is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to foster creativity, collaboration, and growth at The To'omalatai Family Foundation!
